The trades are very important to us, and not just because we supply tools of the trades.

So we were excited to be able to put together some graduation tool kits for 41 local high school students who attend Plantation High School, Piper High School and McArthur High School.

The recipients of these kits are students who successfully attended the after-school portion of the Construction Trades Program at Atlantic Technical College.

(Do you remember the time we partnered with ATC to promote the trades?)

The purpose of the program is to provide high school students with trade instruction in an engaging, hands-on format.

An awards/recruiting assembly took place at Plantation High School last week. New underclassmen were recruited to enroll in the program, current students were encouraged to continue and 24 of the kits were handed out.

The remainder of the kits will be handed out at similar events at Piper High School and McArthur High School.

The graduates studied carpentry, HVAC and electrical, and the kits are to help them get started as they enter the workforce.

The kits were packed full of various hand tools and accessories geared toward the carpentry and HVAC/electrical trades, like this 25′ Dewalt tape measure,  this Klein-Kurve with Wire Stripper Cutter and these Klein Pump Pliers.

We wish these students the best of luck, and hope these tools serve them well!
