My grandpa started this company by selling tools and cords out of the back of his truck, but not long after he and my dad moved the business to a warehouse in Hollywood, FL.

After a few years, they realized that the building was a bit out-dated. So they made plans to build a new location in Davie, FL, off of i-595 and Davie Road.

In 1993, my dad built a model of the store to give them an idea of what the finished building would look like out of balsa wood.

Having a large showroom where people could come in and see the available power tools, machinery and accessories was very important, so that was one of the key features of the new building.

They also needed the additional warehouse space to allow them to purchase properly, in order for the business to be able to offer the competitive prices that we’ve become known for.

I remember when my dad built this. He had all of the materials – balsa wood, glue, paint, etc. – laying out on our dining room table. He would work all day and then come home and spend some time on the project. And on weekends too.

I’d have to say that the real building, once it had been completed, was much more impressive than the model. But I still remember it being pretty cool.

Have you been by our store? We have the largest showroom in the Southeast. So if you’re in the area, you should definitely come visit.

Our address is 2590 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317. It’s a huge building…you can’t miss it!
